It all begins with a dream.

It all begins with a dream of being able to roll off the roof and start your observing or astrophotography session. Gone are the days of countless trips back and forth as you try to get all of your gear set up. After you triple check that all your equipment is set up, level, polar aligned, and properly polar aligned your worst fear blows in, clouds. As you franticly check at least 3 weather apps on your phone trying to figure out how the weather changed so quickly from the time you set up to just now. You feel a rain drop hit your skin, and look up into the sky you see dark clouds lingering above your equipment. You franticly dismantle everything and haul it back inside to safety. Another session lost once again do to unpredictable weather.

This is how the dream begins, no more grabbing everything quickly as you can, just to tear it back down as inclement weather sets in. The dream of having a permanent set up, ready to start and end a session at a moments notice. This is the dream of building your own observatory, this is where my story begins. This is my journey into building the AIF Observatory.
